Objectives
Session 1: Managing Atopic Dermatitis: Practical advice for primary care
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Recall the criteria for differential diagnosis of atopic dermatitis compared to other common dermatological conditions (eg, contact dermatitis)
- Discuss efficacious topical treatments including non-steroidal options (eg, TCIs & PDE4i)
- Manage AD as a chronic disease that requires a long-term management strategy
- Implement best practices for strategic patient engagement, education & adherence
Session 2: The Inside Report – A Decade of Action: Reaching HCV Elimination by 2030
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Describe common barriers to care and strategies that can be applied to address them
- Determine who to screen for HCV, and apply new diagnostic methods to identify patients who are viremic and therefore require treatment
- Examine practical aspects relating to the treatment of patients including priority populations, and/or complex clinical scenarios
- Recognize data on efficacy and safety of available treatments for HCV in targeted populations
- Implement current guidelines in clinical practice to simplify and optimize HCV treatment
Session 3: Follow the Clues! Demystifying the GLP-1 RA Class
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Investigate the GLP-1 RA class and its applications per the Diabetes Canada Pharmacologic Glycemic Management of Type 2 Diabetes in Adults (2020 Update)
- Identify practical strategies for initiating a GLP-1 RA therapy
Session 4: A Shift in Care: Managing OAB Patients Virtually
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Recognize the guidelines-supported approach to OAB assessment
- Recognize the treatment options for OAB in a systematic fashion
- Discuss adaptations to OAB care using a virtual-health platform
Session 5: Obesity Management in Your Practice: Simple Recommendations to Improve Patient Care
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Recognize the Obesity Canada clinical practice guidelines
- Apply the key principles of the guidelines to manage patients with obesity
- Provide strategies for obesity management in primary care without ancillary staff
- Discuss how clinicians can individualize obesity pharmacotherapy based on the needs of the patient with obesity
